Snare
"When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss."
100% chance to hit flying monsters on the first attack
Notable Rulesets
Top 3 Rulesets | Bottom 3 Rulesets |
Earthquake - In order to avoid damage each round, your opponent may stack the deck with flying monsters. Granting your monsters this ability makes it all the more impactful. | Back to Basics - Monsters lose all abilities with this ruleset. Consider whether your selection is still useful given that the snare ability will not be used |
Super Sneak - Consider that your opponent may place a flying monster in the last position - a futile attempt to avoid attacks if Snare is involved! | Broken Arrows - Many (not all) monsters with Snare are ranged attack monsters - making them unusable within this ruleset. |
Target Practice - With the snipe ability, your efforts to snare a flying monster may come to fruition. Your opponent may place a flying monster strategically in order to draw (and evade) sniping fire. | Wands Out - Currently, no magic monsters with the Snare ability exist. Rendering snare unusable within this ruleset. |
Notable Abilities
Top 3 Abilities | Bottom 3 Abilities |
Snipe/Sneak/Opportunity - Combining Snare with targeting abilities can be exceedingly useful if the flying monster is not in the first position. Your opponent may intersperse their flying monsters strategically - particularly if the Earthquake ruleset is involved. | Cleanse - Snare can be cleansed rendering the ability ineffectual. |
Flying - Nothing will frustrate your opponent like a flying monster snaring one of their own. Flutter away while your target remains on the ground - wings clipped and helpless. | Magic Reflect/Return Fire/Thorns - Be sure that your snaring monster can take the damage they deal out! |
Stun - Prevent monsters from attacking once they are snared. This makes it much more difficult for the opposing team to reclaim lost ground, ultimately faltering and failing. | Snipe - Be sure to strategically place your monster with snare. If your opponent plays a monster with snipe, they may take it out of the battle before Snare can be used! |
Remarkable Interactions
- Review the Attack Accuracy Guide
- When the target monster gets hit with the Snare ability, that monster has the Flying ability removed. However, the attacking monster with Snare will still hit this same monster 100% of the time, even when the Flying ability is removed.
- Snare can be Cleansed
Summoners with Snare:
Vera Salacia grants all friendly monsters the Snare ability. Particularly useful within the Earthquake ruleset where competing teams are more likely to use flying monsters to avoid damage each round. Remember to select flying monsters within your lineup as well!
