|Broken Arrows - Ranged attack monsters can not be used, increasing the odds that your opponent will rely heavily upon magic attack monsters.||Melee Mayhem - Only melee attack monsters can be used rendering silence useless.|
|Return Fire - Ranged attack monsters take damage from landed ranged attacks. Reduce their magic attacks as well!||Up Close and Personal - Only melee attack monsters can be used - negating the need for Silence.|

|Headwinds - combine headwinds and silence to reduce your opponents ranged and magic attacks.||Blast - Although magic attacks are reduced by 1 with Silence, they can not reduce to 0. If your opponent plays a magic monster with the blast ability, your adjacent monsters will still take damage.|
|Phase - Magic attacks can miss monsters with phase. The silence and phase abilities are great counters for magic reliant teams.||Return Fire/Magic Reflect - Ensure that your ranged or magic attack monsters with weaken can take what they dish out! Keep in mind that Silence dies with your monster.|
|Blind - Increase the likelihood that your opponents melee and ranged attack monsters will miss their targets. Cover all of you bases by adding Silence to the mix.||Cleanse - If your opponent has a monster with cleanse in their lineup, be aware that Silence can be cleansed.|

- Silence dies with the monster wielding it

Thaddius Brood subtracts 1 magic and 1 max health from your opponent's team.
With a mana cost of 3, Bortus reduces the magic attack of your opponent's monsters by 1.
