Forcefield
"This Monster takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5+"
Giant Killer will ignore the Forcefield ability only if the base damage is less than 5.
Notable Rulesets
Top 3 Rulesets | Bottom 3 Rulesets |
Heavy Hitters - All monsters gain the knockout ability - if the attack is 5+ your monster will only take one damage | Little League - currently, no monsters with forcefield and a mana cost below 5 exist. Because low mana cost monsters usually have lower attacks, forcefield may not be particularly useful anyway. |
Melee Mayhem - This ruleset may prompt your opponent to bring out the big guns - believing that a victory is easily in reach. Disillusion them with forcefield. When paired with Taunt, you can make your victory absolute. | Target Practice - All ranged and magic monsters gain the snipe ability, ensure that your monster with forcefield is protected - lest they get picked off easily by less powerful attacks. |
What Doesn't Kill You - All monsters gain the Enrage ability. Their increased attack power may turn out to be a curse rather than a blessing. | Counterspell/Broken Arrows/Briar Patch - Be aware that your monster with Forcefield will take damage from the attacks they dish out! |
Notable Abilities
Top 3 Abilities | Bottom 3 Abilities |
Bloodlust - If your opponent plays a monster with bloodlust, the stats of that monster increase with each kill. If they come up against your monster with forcefield wielding a 5+ attack, they may not be able to defeat you. This could be the opportunity you need to defeat them instead. | Halving - Decreased attack by your opponent is generally beneficial. However your forcefield may be rendered useless if the attack reduces to 4 or less. |
Heal - Be sure to back up your monster with heal. Extending their life against all attacks. | Stun - Stun is an enemy to most abilities - rendering your monster unable to attack. |
Taunt - Draw all attacks to your monster with forcefield. This will allow you other monsters to deal damage and destruction to your opponent's lineup. | Blind - It is just as important to attack as it is to deflect attacks. Keep this in mind as your opponent may play a monster with Blind or other ability that decreases your attack accuracy. |
Remarkable Interactions
- Forcefield has no impact on attacks with a strength of 1,2,3 or 4.
- Units with Forcefield only take 1 damage from attacks that deal 5 damage or more before bonuses are applied. If Giant Killer, Knock Out, Recharge, Oppress, or a similar ability increases damage to 5 or more, Forcefield will not help.
