Retaliate
"When hit with a Melee attack, Units with Retaliate have a 50% chance of immediately attacking their attacker."
Attack Accuracy applies
Remarkable Interactions
- Retaliate ability can activate even when the Unit is killed.
- Two Units with Retaliate can attack each other continuously if their Retaliate abilities continue to activate.
- Armored Strike can trigger Retaliate.
- Retaliate can be Amplified.
Notable Rulesets
- What Doesn't Kill You: All Units can become Enraged resulting in increased speed and melee attacks when damaged. This can allow you to deal an even more devastating blow with Retaliate.
- Briar Patch: Ensure that you can take what you dish out when Thorns are involved. After taking damage from an attacker, retaliating only to take thorn damage may destroy any chance at victory.
Notable Abilities
- Inspire - +1 melee attack is exceedingly valuable where retaliate is involved. Defeat attacking Units for good!
- Stun - If your opponent uses stun, your Unit will not be able to attack or retaliate. Consider this within rulesets where the use of Stun is encouraged such as Heavy Hitters.
- Blind - Any ability that decreases your likelihood of a successful melee attack is an enemy to Retaliate. Missing an attack can provide your opponent with the opening they need to win.
Summoners with Retaliate
Cryptic was airdropped to qualifying players after the fifth Conflict. As part of the Rebellion set, Cryptic adds insult to injury all the way around. Not only will your opponent suffer -1 speed, but their entire team will be Blinded - reducing the accuracy of attacks by 15%. Next, choose between granting two Units Retaliate and Enfeeble OR Poison and Expose. Which strategy will work the best? The choice is yours!
