Splinterlands usernames are not changeable once a Spellbook has been purchased and a name selected. Players cannot change their usernames if they have registered their Splinterlands account with an active Hive account.
Players who register a free account on the Splinterlands website (excluding a Hive account), start with a default name for a lite account and may change it upon Spellbook purchase. Examples of lite account names are listed below:
- Pupil_0123456
- Acolyte_0123456
- Initiate_0123456
- Neophyte_0123456
The names and numbers vary for each user and provide a unique username until a user decides to earn rewards by purchasing a Spellbook. Upon activation, players should be able to enter a new username to replace the default username. This username change is irreversible, as this action also opens a static Hive address. This doubles as both a deposit address for receiving and storing Hive assets.
Your Hive address cannot be changed, though it can be utilized as a username along with your private keys throughout various Hive websites and applications, such as peakmonsters.com, baronstoolbox.com, and Hive Keychain.
To claim your private keys for your account, just click on your username (shield icon), and then click on the "Request Account Keys" option, which should allow you to retrieve your Hive account's private keys by having them delivered via email.
If you want to learn a safe way how to manage your keys with Hive Keychain for logins and initiating transactions or find you are having trouble with claiming your Hive account's keys, please follow either of the corresponding guides below:
