This article is a 10-step guide to retrieving your keys. Upon key retrieval, it is essential to securely back up and store your keys offline.
Step 1: Log out of your account and clear your cache on your computer or phone.
Step 2: Go to a computer, log in to https://splinterlands.com/, and click Forgot Password.
Step 3: You will enter the email address associated with your account and click the Recover Password button.
Step 4: Go to your email and check for a lost password email from Splinterlands. You don't need to change your password; this is to make sure you can receive emails from our server.
Step 5: Go back to Splinterlands and log into the game, then click your username in the top right, and Account Security in the drop menu (Step 1), then on the Security page, click the Request Keys button (Step 2), pictured below:
**Note: You can find the Security page nested in the Settings page, either route will take you there.
Step 6: Please read through the pop-up (pictured below), and click Submit Request:
Step 7: After clicking Submit Request, please pay attention to the popup below, and check your spam/junk folders if needed.
Step 8: Go back to your email, and you will see a link like the below in your email. Click the link.
Step 9: After being redirected to the page below, you will need to enter your email address and password, and then you will be taken to the screen seen below the login here, containing the your username, master password and keys.
Step 10, FOR MAXIMUM ACCOUNT SECURITY: Copy and paste all of your keys into a text document and save it. Add your account to Hive keychain for safekeeping on your computer. Then take the text document and back it up on a zip drive and remove the text document from your computer. Placing that zip drive in a safe location is called cold storage. Then make sure you delete your keys like the picture above shows.
