What is survival mode?
Survival mode is a format that allows players to use every card within their collection. A few points differentiate survival more from modern and wild formats:
- No energy is required to battle - players can battle as much as they are able!
- When a card dies in a Survival mode battle, it will not be able to be used again (in Survival mode) until the cooldown period ends or it has been revived.
- Depleted cards cannot be listed for rent. However, they can still be used in other formats—Modern, Wild, Brawls, or Tournaments— while they are on cooldown from Survival Mode.

How do brackets work?
There are 11 brackets, each with unique settings that affect gameplay in the following ways:
Automated Play: Whether bots are allowed (Automation Allowed) or not (Active).
Minimum Archon Level: Archons for each rarity must meet this level or higher to be playable in the bracket.
Maximum Archon Level: Archons above this level for each rarity are capped to the bracket’s maximum level. Capping their units summoned as well.
System Archon Level: Liquidity bots in this bracket use cards up to this level per rarity.
System Difficulty: The difficulty level of the liquidity bots (Easy, Medium or Hard)
Cooldown Reduction: Cards played in this bracket have their cooldown reduced by X%. For example, a card with 4-day cooldown will only have a 2-day cooldown in a bracket with a 50% reduction, applied when the card is depleted.
At the start of each season, players can choose a bracket based on their preferences. Each bracket has its own Glint allocation determined by participation. The more collection power played within a bracket, the larger the Glint pool will be.
Note: Archon caps do not limit the collection power (CP) contribution of individual cards. For example, a maxed card will contribute the same CP to its bracket regardless of the Archon cap.
How do reward points work in survival mode?
Players earn Reward Points (How are Rewards (Rshares) Calculated?) for each victory in Survival. At the end of the season, Glint rewards are distributed based on a player’s Reward Points relative to others in the same bracket.
Each bracket is independent and the Glint allocation depending on the total Collection Power played by all players in that bracket throughout the season.
What is the duration of the Survival cooldown?
*Survival cooldowns in the manual brackets have been temporarily reduced by 99%.
When a card is depleted, the cooldown starts. Your bracket also has an impact on the duration of the cooldown.
- Novice: 10% of standard cooldowns
- Bronze: 15% of standard cooldowns
- Silver: 25% of standard cooldowns
- Gold: 50% of standard cooldowns
- Higher brackets follow standard cooldown rules
The cooldown time for a specific card will be based on the card's rarity, total bcx, and foil, and will be calculated based on the following formula:
base_cd - (base_cd - max_cd) * bcx / max_bcxWhere base_cd is the base cooldown time for a 1 BCX card of that rarity and max_cd is the cooldown time for a max level card of that rarity, both of which can be found in the following table:

Please note that a 1 BCX card uses the base cooldown listed in the table above and does not follow the formula. Additionally, Gold Foil cards have half the cooldown time of their regular foil equivalents, while Black Foil cards have half the cooldown of a maxed Gold Foil card.
For example, a 300 BCX regular foil Common card would have a cooldown of 180 hours or 7.5 days:
360 - (360 - 120) * 300 / 400 = 180
A 5 BCX Gold Foil Epic card would have a cooldown of 78 hours or 3.25 days:
(240 - (240 - 72) * 5 / 10) / 2 = 78

How can I check how much longer my card will remain on Survival cooldown?
View the amount of time left for cards on survival mode cooldown by hovering over the survival mode icon on the card details screen.
After a card dies in Survival, it becomes depleted and can no longer be played in that mode. A depleted card becomes playable again either when its cooldown ends naturally or when the cooldown is reset at the End of Season or when the cooldown ends as enough time happened
How do I revive my depleted cards?
Phoenix Ash will be applicable to reduce cooldowns in the future. These potions are not introduced at re-launch to give players a chance to get acquainted with the mode first.
What should I know about flagging cards for survival mode?
All cards in each user's collection were automatically flagged for survival mode upon release.
- If survival mode is not played, this flag has no impact on transferability or utility at all. Players can choose not to participate in survival mode.
If players wish to unflag all of their cards for survival mode, they can click the Disable all cards from Survival mode button on the items page. Likewise, players can use the filters to select a group of cards and unflag or flag them as they desire.
Players can flag and unflag individual cards for survival mode by clicking the survival mode icon on the item details page.
Players can also create custom sets to house various playing decks and flag or unflag them for survival mode per their preference.
Review How to Flag and Unflag Cards for Survival Mode for additional guidance.
What survival mode filters are available?
On the Collection screen, you can use the filters in the top bar to manage your Survival cards.
- Survival Mode Enabled - displays every card currently flagged for survival mode.
- Survival Mode Disabled - displays every card not currently flagged for survival mode.
- Survival Mode Depleted - displays depleted for survival mode and in survival mode.
- Survival Mode Cooldown - displays every card currently on survival mode cooldown.
What should I know about rentals and survival mode?
Only Season Rentals may be used. Survival mode cooldowns reset at the end of each season.
Can I choose the level of cards I play in survival mode?
Yes. Use the new level drop-down filter to select the level of your cards. Please note: Archon Unit Restrictions apply!
You can also view the number of an individual card you have available for survival mode on the team create screen inside the red flag.
Can I view my opponent's previously played teams in survival mode?
Yes. Players can view their opponent's previously played teams in survival mode.
How are draws handled?
In survival mode, auto draws (in which the same team is played), both players' Archons and units live. In draws where teams are different and the final cards played by both teams ultimately perish, both teams' Archons live.
What happens if I surrender?
If you surrender, one random unit and one random archon from your collection will be put on cooldown for survival mode. Surrenders are identifiable by the white flag displayed on the match history screen.
Do resurrected cards that survive until the end of the match count as alive or dead?
If a card dies, is resurrected, and survives until the end of the battle, they are considered alive and will NOT be placed on survival mode cooldown.
Where can I view my survival mode stats?
View your stats alongside your modern and wild stats within your player profile.
