Fate’s Certainty

Affliction, Poison, Poison Burst, and Stun have a 100% chance to trigger
- Under Fate’s Certainty, certain chance-based effects become guaranteed. When a unit with Affliction, Poison, Poison Burst, or Stun abilities successfully hits a target, the effect will apply.
- These effects still require an eligible hit. Fate’s Certainty does not make attacks automatically hit, and it does not grant Stun, Poison, or Affliction to units that do not already have them.
Important Exceptions
Fate’s Certainty does not override normal immunity or attack restrictions.
- Immunity can still prevent Stun, Poison, and Affliction.
- Blast damage does not apply these effects.
- If the attack misses, the effect is not applied.
- If the unit does not have Stun, Poison, or Affliction, Fate’s Certainty does not add those abilities.
Fate’s Certainty Strategy
Fate’s Certainty makes status-effect teams much more reliable. Units with Stun, Poison, or Affliction become especially dangerous because their effects are no longer left to chance.
Consider using:
- Units with Stun to deny enemy turns.
- Units with Poison to pressure high Health enemies over multiple rounds.
- Units with Affliction to stop healing-based teams.
- Knock Out attackers alongside Stun, since Knock Out deals extra damage to stunned targets.
- Cleanse or Immunity to protect key units from status effects.
Fate’s Certainty Modifier Interactions
- Healed Out reduces the value of Affliction, since healing is already blocked by the Modifier.
- Noxious Fumes pairs well with Poison pressure, but remember that Poison from abilities and Poison from the Modifier are different sources.
- Knock Out becomes more reliable when paired with Stun, since Fate’s Certainty makes Stun land whenever the attack and target are eligible.
