Black Foils and Arcane Variants were added to Splinterlands as part of the Conclave Arcana core set release. These special cards can be obtained within Conclave Arcana (and Escalation) packs, frontier weekly fortune draws, modern and wild weekly fortune draws, and other special events. Black foils and variants can also be purchased from other players on the market.

Attributes
Black Foil cards are max-level cards that have a black foil frame and background. There is no limit to how many black foil cards can be printed - other then the availability of said card via limited time sales or print runs.
Black Foil Arcane cards are max-level cards that have a black foil frame and background as well as a special shimmery overlay. Limited in number, the box in the bottom right of each card shows the mint number of the card/total arcane cards. Black Foil Arcane cards are more limited in number then Gold Foil Arcane cards.
- Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane Reward cards can be gained via Fortune Entries into weekly Draws.
- Black Foil Arcane Promo cards can be gained via Auction.
Both Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane cards have:
- +20% Reward bonus in ranked battles
- Half the cooldown of Gold Foil cards in Survival Mode
- 5x the DEC burn value, Collection Power, and Contribution in Conflicts of Gold Foils
- 5x base Production Point multiplier (same as Beta cards)
- You can use both Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane in lieu of Gold Foil during brawls and tournaments!

- Arcane animations can be disabled in settings
Where can I view mint history?
Individual Card View
- To find the mint history of a specific card, first ensure that the card is within the Conclave Arcana Set.
- Next, choose a card and locate the Variants History button.
3. Use the tabs to toggle between Gold Arcane, Black, and Black Foil Arcane.
Recent/All Cards View
Use the button in the upper right corner of the screen to view the Recent cards pulled. Click it again to change to All cards pulled.
Direct Routes
Foundations Prize Overview and Conclave Arcana Prize Overview can be found by clicking the Reward Info box in the rewards tab in Frontier or Modern/Wild formats, respectively. On the Weekly Frontier/Fortune Draw page, scroll past the images of Recent Winners, an click the Prize Overview button.
Conclave Arcana Prize Overview can be found by clicking the Mint History button in the mana well.
Escalation Prize Overview can be found by scrolling down to the Mint History button on the Escalation shop page.
