How Did the Ranked Battle System Change?
Read the Official Announcement for full details. A list of the major points is below:
- Summoner level caps and penalties for low-level cards have been removed.
- See Summoning Units Restrictions
- Penalties still apply to Starter Cards.
- Advancing leagues is no longer optional.
- Players will be matched against others with similar ratings even if they are in different leagues.
- There will be a single SPS reward pool for Modern and a single SPS reward pool for Wild.
- Both Modern and Wild SPS rewards have been collapsed into a single pool per gameplay type, rather than pools separated by each League.
- Players will get +20 for wins, -20 for losses, and +40 for win streak bonuses (Champion exempt).
- See Energy System FAQ for the updated energy costs.
- The Mana Cap for Novice and Bronze has been increased to 50.
- Rating for the reward shares calculation is now capped at 5,000 rating.
- The rating reset for leagues has been adjusted to be divisible by 20, and Bronze III now starts at 260 rating.
- Champion is the only league able to compete for spots on the leaderboard.
- Players above a 3700 rating can now be matched with any other player above 3700, if enough time has passed.
- The Rewards Shop and Glint have been added!

What Might the Experience Be Like?
While the changes take effect, which may take a season or two, players may experience many wins or losses while players move to the appropriate ratings. You can always rent cards to increase the competitiveness of your deck.
