What happened to Starter Cards?

Starter cards have been retired and replaced with Campaign Mode & the Foundations Set. Now, new players can earn glint and SPS penalty-free!

What were Starter Cards?

Previously, every player began the game with a set of starter cards. This allowed new players to experiment with gameplay in the Modern format before choosing to rent or purchase cards. Only common and rare cards from the Rebellion set were included. 

• Starter Cards may be used to earn Glint but penalize SPS earnings.
• Starter cards may NOT be used in tournaments and brawls 
• Starter cards may NOT be used in Wild format 
• Starter cards may NOT be used in Survival Mode.

There are distinct differences when viewing starter cards in your collection. The starter card (on the left below) has a blue flag with an S in the top right corner and is more transparent. Hover over the blue S to reveal more information about Starter Cards.
