Escalation Conflicts: FAQ
Escalation Conflicts began on May 19, 2026. Review the official announcement below:
Note: This article covers Escalation Conflicts. Rules for Rebellion and Conclave Arcana Conflicts may differ.
What are Escalation Conflicts?
Escalation Conflicts are 30-day events where players stake eligible Escalation cards and packs into Mage Wagons to generate Contribution and earn chances at a Conflict airdrop card.
Each Escalation Conflict features a Legendary Archon card. The Escalation Conflict series includes six Legendary Archons.
How are Escalation Conflicts different from earlier Conflicts?
Escalation Conflicts use Escalation-only eligibility:
- Eligible cards: Escalation Mini-Set cards and Escalation Promo cards only.
- Eligible packs: Escalation packs only.
- Rebellion and Conclave Arcana cards or packs are not eligible for Escalation Conflicts.
- Initial Escalation Conflict claims award regular airdrop cards. Gold Foil, Black Foil, Gold Foil Arcane, and Black Foil Arcane versions are distributed through leaderboard prizes and Foil Draw events.
- Black Foil, Gold Foil Arcane, and Black Foil Arcane versions are NOT discoverable in packs.
Older Conflicts articles may mention Rebellion or Conclave Arcana assets because those articles describe previous Conflict eras.
What are the requirements to participate in Escalation Conflicts?
To participate, players need:
- At least one Mage Wagon, or enough Wagon Kits to create a Mage Wagon.
- Eligible Escalation cards and/or Escalation packs.
One Mage Wagon is required to support one airdrop card claim. If you win more cards than you have undamaged wagons available for, the claim screen will show whether additional Wagon Kits are needed to claim additional copies.
How do I participate in Escalation Conflicts?
Navigate to the Conflicts page and select the Escalation Conflict series:
Then:
- Build, buy, or repair Mage Wagons as needed.
- Stake eligible Escalation cards and/or Escalation packs into your Mage Wagons.
- Save your changes.
- Keep cards and packs staked to continue generating Contribution during the Conflict.
Joining later in a Conflict can reduce your final chances because there is less time left for your staked cards and packs to generate Contribution.
Which cards can be used in Escalation Conflicts?
Only Escalation Mini-Set cards and Escalation Promo cards can be used.
Cards must be owned by you. The following cards may not be staked on Mage Wagons:
- Cards rented or delegated to you.
- Cards you have delegated out.
- Cards listed on the market.
- Cards currently staked on Land.
- Cards in an unstaking state.
- Cards from other editions, including Rebellion and Conclave Arcana.
Which packs can be used in Escalation Conflicts?
Only Escalation packs can be staked in Escalation Conflicts.
Escalation packs do not need to have been purchased directly from the Splinterlands shop to be eligible. If you own the packs and they are available in your inventory, they may be staked up to your Mage Wagon capacity.
How do Mage Wagons work?
Mage Wagons hold the cards and packs that generate Contribution during Conflicts. Existing Mage Wagons and newly created Mage Wagons are eligible for Escalation Conflicts, as long as they are not damaged.
Each Mage Wagon can hold:
| Wagon Capacity | Amount |
|---|---|
| Cards per Wagon | 5 |
| Packs per Wagon | 100 |
Each Mage Wagon also supports claiming one airdrop card. If a wagon becomes damaged, it must be repaired before it can be used again.
How do I get more Mage Wagons?
Players may create a Mage Wagon by using 2 Wagon Kits.
Wagon Kits may be crafted in the Artisan Quarter. Each Wagon Kit costs:
| Resource | Amount per Wagon Kit |
|---|---|
| Wood | 17,500 |
| Stone | 7,000 |
| Iron | 1,750 |
| Aura | 1,250 |
Wagon Kits are tradeable and may be bought or sold on the Non-Card Market. Wagon Kits may also be purchasable with DEC or Credits when available in game.
How do repairs work?
Repairing a damaged Mage Wagon costs 1 Wagon Kit.
Each time you receive an airdropped Conflict card, one Mage Wagon becomes damaged. One wagon is damaged for each airdropped card you receive, whether or not that specific wagon was used to generate Contribution during the Conflict.
Example: If you own 100 Mage Wagons, fill 30 of them, and win 40 airdrop cards, 40 of your 100 Mage Wagons will be damaged.
What happens when I add cards to a Mage Wagon?
Cards staked on Mage Wagons continue to be playable in battles, including ranked play, brawls, and tournaments.
However, cards on Mage Wagons may not be:
- Sold.
- Transferred.
- Rented.
- Delegated.
- Staked on Land.
Cards may be removed from Mage Wagons, subject to standard wagon cooldowns and Conflict lockout windows. Once removed, cards become available again for normal supported actions.
What happens when I add packs to a Mage Wagon?
Staked Escalation packs are moved from your available pack balance into your Conflicts balance. They count toward your Mage Wagon pack capacity and generate Contribution while staked.
To make packs available again, remove them from Conflicts from the pack staking interface. Removed packs are returned to your available balance, subject to standard wagon cooldowns and Conflict lockout windows.
Should I be aware of cooldown periods?
Yes. Standard Mage Wagon cooldowns apply:
- After adding cards to a Mage Wagon, there is a 15-minute cooldown before you can adjust that wagon's contents again.
- After using the bulk Auto-Fill feature, there is a 60-minute cooldown before you may use bulk Auto-Fill again.
- After using the bulk Clear All feature, there is a 15-minute cooldown before you may use it again.
- Wagon management actions may not be taken during the final 15 minutes before a Conflict ends.
- Wagon management actions may not be taken during the first 15 minutes after a new Conflict starts.
- After a Conflict ends, participants can claim rewards after the processing window completes. This usually takes about 15 minutes.
How are points for Escalation Conflicts calculated?
Escalation cards and packs generate Contribution while they are staked on Mage Wagons.
Card Contribution is based on Collection Power:
| Card Type | Point Value |
|---|---|
| Regular Foil | Collection Power |
| Gold Foil / Gold Foil Arcane | Collection Power |
| Black Foil / Black Foil Arcane | Collection Power x 0.6 |
Pack Contribution:
| Pack Type | Point Value |
|---|---|
| Escalation Pack | 125 |
Every 100,000 Contribution earns 1 Conflict Chance, also called an entry, toward the Conflict airdrop. No partial chances are awarded.
The Current Chances and Estimated Chances shown in game are the best way to review your active and projected results for the current Conflict.
What are the odds of receiving the Conflict airdrop card?
For the first Escalation Conflict, each entry has a 0.00307692% chance to receive the Conflict card, and a guaranteed drop is awarded after 325 entries.
Odds and guaranteed-drop thresholds may be shown in game for each Conflict. Always review the current Conflict page for the active Conflict's exact values.
What are the rewards for participating in Escalation Conflicts?
Each Escalation Conflict has a Legendary Archon airdrop card.
The first Escalation Archon is Meredrool, a Legendary Fire Archon with Bloodline Dominion: Divine Construct and the Reckless tactic.
Initial claims do not award Gold Foil, Black Foil, Gold Foil Arcane, or Black Foil Arcane versions. Premium foil versions are distributed through leaderboard prizes and Foil Draw events.
What are the leaderboard rewards?
Each Escalation Conflict has leaderboard prizes.
| Place | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1 | 10 Gold Foils + 1 Limited Edition Skin |
| 2 | 9 Gold Foils + 1 Limited Edition Skin |
| 3 | 8 Gold Foils + 1 Limited Edition Skin |
| 4 | 7 Gold Foils + 1 Limited Edition Skin |
| 5 | 6 Gold Foils + 1 Limited Edition Skin |
| 6-10 | 3 Gold Foils + 1 Limited Edition Skin |
The leaderboard helps players compare their Contribution against other participants. The full leaderboard is updated every hour on the hour.
What are Foil Draw events?
Foil Draw events are separate prize drawings for premium foil Conflict cards and Limited Edition Skins.
Foil Draw events begin two days after a Conflict ends. There are four Foil Draw events for each Escalation Conflict:
- Gold Foil.
- Black Foil.
- Gold Foil Arcane.
- Black Foil Arcane.
Players may choose how to allocate their earned Conflict Chances across the available Foil Draw buckets.
What are the Foil Draw buckets and requirements?
Each monthly Conflict has the following Foil Draw buckets:
| Bucket | Requirement | Prize Pool |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Foil | At least 1 copy of the Conflict card. Mint number does not matter. | 50 cards + 50 skins |
| Black Foil | Maxed copy of the Conflict card. | 9 cards + 50 skins |
| Gold Foil Arcane | Maxed copy of the Conflict card. | 5 cards + 50 skins |
| Black Foil Arcane | Maxed copy of the Conflict card. | 1 card + 50 skins |
Can I use potions for Foil Draw events?
Yes. Potions may be used to add extra Foil Draw entries at the time of entry.
Each potion used adds 1 extra Foil Draw entry. Players may use potions up to the number of Conflict Chances they allocated to that specific Foil Draw event.
Example: If you allocate 100 chances to the Black Foil Draw, you may use up to 100 Midnight Potions to add up to 100 extra Black Foil Draw entries.
| Foil Draw Event | Potion Required Per Extra Entry |
|---|---|
| Gold Foil | 1 Alchemy Potion |
| Black Foil | 1 Midnight Potion |
| Gold Foil Arcane | 1 Lustrous Potion |
| Black Foil Arcane | 1 Lustrous Potion |
What is a Lustrous Potion?
Lustrous Potion is a potion used for Arcane Foil Draw entries.
Lustrous Potions are craftable on Land for 100 Aura each.

What happens during the Preparation Phase?
Between Escalation Conflicts, players enter a Preparation Phase. During this time, players may repair, rebuild, and adjust Mage Wagons before the next Conflict begins.
The Preparation Phase also gives players time to place newly won cards into Mage Wagons before the next Conflict cycle.
What happens after an Escalation Conflict ends?
After an Escalation Conflict ends:
- Reward processing begins. This usually takes about 15 minutes.
- Players who participated may claim any earned rewards after processing completes.
- Contribution for the completed Conflict no longer accumulates.
- Players may repair damaged Mage Wagons.
- Undamaged Mage Wagons may continue into the next Conflict, subject to the current Preparation Phase and next Conflict rules.
- Players may use their Allocated Entries and potions to enter draws for Gold Foil, Black Foil, and Arcane Variants.
- Regular and gold foil Legendary Escalation Archons are added to packs.
- Black foil and Arcane Variant Legendary Archons are NOT discoverable in packs.
What happened to existing wagons when Escalation Conflicts started?
At the transition into Escalation Conflicts, unbroken Mage Wagons carried forward into the new Conflict series. Damaged Mage Wagons from the previous Conflict state were removed, and player-owned Wagon Kit balances, including Non-Card Market listings, were doubled.
If your wagon or Wagon Kit balance does not look correct, submit a support request with your Splinterlands username and the approximate date/time you noticed the issue. Do not provide private keys, passwords, seed phrases, or unredacted payment information.
Can I combine cards staked on Mage Wagons?
Yes. Cards staked on Mage Wagons may be combined, but the combined card must remain compatible with the wagon and Conflict rules.
Combining cards on Mage Wagons may trigger wagon cooldowns. If a combine action fails, check whether one of the cards is already on a wagon, listed, delegated, rented, staked on Land, or otherwise unavailable.
How can I verify the results of a Conflict?
After a Conflict is complete, navigate to the completed Conflict and select Review. The completed Conflict page includes verification links for card distribution and results.
Verification data may include the Conflict season, block number, block ID, previous block ID, and transaction ID. This information can be used to review the distribution with an external block explorer.
Is there a leaderboard for Escalation Conflicts?
Yes. Open the Escalation Conflicts page and select the Leaderboard option.
The leaderboard can help you compare your Contribution and chances with other participants. The full leaderboard is updated every hour on the hour.
