Before you send assets from Hive Engine to Splinterlands, it is important to understand the basics. In this article, we will go over how to send assets, such as DEC, SPS, vouchers, packs, orbs, totems, licenses, or lands to Splinterlands from Hive.
In case of any doubt, feel free to contact support in the chat. We always advise you to start small with transfers if you have doubts. Then if the transfer fails, you will only lose one pack, not 100 packs.
1) How Do I Transfer DEC and SPS from Hive-engine to Splinterlands and Back?
For transferring DEC, SPS and Vouchers IN AND OUT, we recommend the in-game transfer in and transfer out features. For more information, see:
https://support.splinterlands.com/hc/en-us/articles/4414349014804-Transfer-DEC-SPS-between-the-in-game-balance-and-Hive-Engine
2) How Do I Transfer Vouchers from Hive-engine to Splinterlands and Back?
Step 1: Use the send button in the shop tab to transfer vouchers IN AND OUT.
Step 2: Then fill in the form above and choose transfer in or transfer out. "Transfer Out" means from Splinterlands to Hive-Engine. "Transfer In" means from Hive-Engine to Splinterlands.
3) Sending Packs, Orbs, Totems, or Lands from Hive-Engine to Splinterlands (Short Version)
- Go to the Hive-engine: https://hive-engine.com/

- Fill in:
- To: steemmonsters
- Amount: the amount you want to send
- Memo: Keep this field empty
- Wait 3 minutes
- You can now see the packs at: https://splinterlands.com/?p=mana_well or see the orbs, totems, or land at: https://splinterlands.com/?p=items
4) Sending Packs, Orbs, Totems or Lands – The Complete Story
In this example, I will send 1 Chaos Legion pack from my Hive account to my in-game Splinterlands account on a Windows 10 PC. It could look slightly different on other devices but should work the same.
4.1) How do I know if there are packs, orbs, totems, or lands on Hive-Engine?
- Go to the Hive-engine: https://hive-engine.com/
- Login in (we advise you to use Hive Keychain to authenticate yourself on the Hive blockchain for an easier and safer way of logging in. If you don’t have it yet, please see this article: https://support.splinterlands.com/hc/en-us/articles/4412500061588-Hive-Keychain-Installation-and-Usage )
- After logging in, you should have arrived at the “My Token Wallet” page. If not, click on Wallet.
NOTE: assets (DEC, SPS, Vouchers, packs, orbs, totems, or lands) can also be found in your Hive Keychain.
4.2) How do I transfer packs from Hive-Engine to Splinterlands?
Now that you are logged in at the wallet tab of Hive-engine (https://hive-engine.com/):

4.5) How does this work in a technical way?
Blockchain
If I had to describe a blockchain in a few words, I would describe it as “an electronic, anonymous, automated ledger,” to say it in a simplified way.
The Hive Blockchain
The Hive Blockchain Works via the DPoS principle. This stands for Delegated Proof of Stake. This makes Hive blockchain different from many other blockchains so that anyone can become a validator of the energy-efficient blockchain transaction to ensure security and correctness democratically.
Hive-Engine
This is a place where you can exchange Hive-supported crypto and assets.
Splinterlands website
To say it in a simplified way: the Splinterlands website uses the Hive blockchain for many types of transactions. Everything happens on the Splinterlands website until you transfer packs, play a tournament, play a ranked battle, and when you buy, delegate, or transfer assets like cards, lands, totems, or orbs.
Steemmonsters
Steam is another blockchain that Splinterlands used to work on in the old days. In the old days, Splinterlands was called Steemmonsters.
The steemmonsters Hive account
The steemmonsters Hive account is used to send Hive-tokens from Hive-Engine to the Splinterlands bridge.
The Splinterlands Hive Bridge
This is an automated connection between Hive and Splinterlands to send Hive-compatible crypto and assets.
Now that you know how it works, here is the short version.
So to say it in a simplified way: when you transfer assets from Hive-Engine to Splinterlands, you will use Hive-Engine as an exchange of different tokens/crypto. To make the actual transfer, Hive-Engine will use the HIVE blockchain (as in the electronic, anonymous, automated ledger) to send the token to the Splinterlands-Hive Bridge. And from there on, it will be sent automatically to your Splinterlands Account. (NOTE: this doesn’t completely count for the in-game transfers of DEC, SPS, and Vouchers).
