In order to use a BSC wallet to login to Splinterlands, and transfer tokens for use into or out of the game, you will need to have that wallet successfully imported into the Metamask browser extension. You can do this via a Seed Phrase or a Private Key, both of which are outlined below. The guide specifically outlines steps for users who already have a wallet in their Binance Wallet extension, though both methods should be able to be used for other wallets that support BSC network wallets, as long as you can access the Seed Phrase or Private Key.
** Note: The Private Key method will only be useful if you already have Metamask set-up with an existing wallet, though the Seed Phrase can be used with a new instance of Metamask, so we have outlined the downloading and installing of Metamask in the Seed Phrase section.
Importing via a Seed Phrase
Step 1: Click the letter A icon in the top right of your Binance Wallet Extension:
Step 2: Click Settings in the menu pictured below:
Step 3: Now, click View Seed Phrase:
Step 4: Enter your Binance Wallet password, then click Next:
Step 5: Copy or download your Seed Phrase in full (all the words MUST be copied correctly) and store it somewhere safe, preferably somewhere offline, as this will give anyone with it access to your wallet. You can click the copy icon () to get the full phrase into your clipboard, or the download icon () to save a file with the seed phrase.
Note: This is an empty wallet used as an example in this article, though two words are still censored. Remember, anyone with access to this phrase has access to your entire wallet and anything in it.
Step 6: Next, visit Metamask's website and download the extension for your chosen browser. After installing, open the extension and click Import an Existing Wallet:
Step 7: Select the "I have a 12 word phrase" option from the dropdown menu, then copy and paste the 12-word seed phrase (the whole phrase can be pasted at once) and click Confirm:
Step 8: Create a password to unlock the Metamask wallet locally on this device:
Step 9: You have successfully added your BSC wallet to Metamask, and can use it via the extension for various websites and Dapps.
** Note: If you have not set-up Metamask to use the actual BSC network (instead of the ETH network), please check out our guide on that here.
Importing via a Private Key
Step 1: Click the letter A icon in the top right of your Binance Wallet Extension:
Step 2: Click the Manage button:
Step 3: Click the key icon pictured below:
Step 4: Enter your Binance Wallet password:
Step 5: Copy or download your Private Key and store it somewhere safe, preferably somewhere offline, as this will give anyone with it access to your wallet. You can click the copy icon () to get the full Private Key into your clipboard, or the download icon () to save a file with the Private Key.
Note: This is an empty wallet used as an example this article, though the key is still censored in part. Remember, anyone with access to this key has access to your entire wallet and anything in it.
Step 6: Go to your Metamask wallet extension (if you haven't installed Metamask and don't have existing wallet within it, please use the Seed Phrase portion of this guide above instead). Click your account icon (the avatar in the top right) and then Import Account:
Step 7: Copy your private key from where you have it safely stored, and paste it into Metamask, pictured below:
Step 8: You have successfully added your BSC wallet to Metamask, and can use it via the extension for various websites and Dapps.
** Note: If you have not set-up Metamask to use the actual BSC network (instead of the ETH network), please check out our guide on that here.
