When I Buy Assets, Where Do My Tokens Go?

Splinterlands sells multiple products for a variety of in-game currencies. Use this as a reference to discover where they go.

Splinterlands Shop

• Rebellion Packs - Any DEC or Credits used to purchase these packs in-game are treated as revenue. This SPS DAO governance proposal allows the DAO to earn 50% of all revenue from Rebellion pack sales through the Splinterlands website! 
• Promos - Promo cards purchased with DEC are sometimes considered company revenue but there are exceptions. Revenue from current Promo Cards (Hall of Legends and Heloise the Hollow Auction) is delivered to the DAO as a result of this proposal.
• Potions - DEC used for potions is burned. 
• Validator Node Licenses - 80% of the SPS tokens and 100% of the vouchers used for these purchases are burned. The other 20% of these tokens will be put in the SPS foundation and are reserved specifically to be used to continue to incentivize SPS validator node operation when the 3B SPS token cap is reached after roughly 5 years. 
• Energy - DEC that is used to purchase energy is burned. Credits that are used to purchase energy will have an equivalent amount of DEC burned.

Land Items

Land Items can be purchased directly from the company with the Land expansion. Check the non-card market for cheaper items!

• Grain - Any DEC or DEC-B used to purchase grain is burned. 
• Power Cores - Any DEC or DEC-B used to purchase power cores is burned.
• Time Crystals - Any DEC or DEC-B used to purchase time crystals is burned.
• For Land Items, Dark Energy Crystals will be burned by the company whenever Credits are used.

Land Deeds can be purchased from your fellow players. Purchase unclaimed land deeds from the non-card market. Claimed land can be purchased via third parties like https://monstermarket.io/lands or within the land expansion How Do I Buy Claimed Land?

Other Items & Card Market

Your fellow players are responsible for listing all items in the non-card market in addition to card sales and rentals. They receive payment in DEC (less market fees).

Retired Items Reference

• Riftwatchers Packs (Gems) - 100% of the SPS used to buy these packs was put into the DAO for future voting use. All vouchers used for pack purchases were burned. 
• Nightmare Packs - Any DEC or Credits used to purchase these packs in-game was treated as company revenue and went to Splinterlands. Any vouchers used were burned. Ownership of Soulkeep has since been transferred to Double Coconut.
• Runi - Any Ethereum used to purchase Runi is treated as company revenue. Though the sale has ended, Runi can be bought and sold on Opensea.io. 
• Splinterstorm Skins - Any DEC used for these items was burned.
