DEC and SPS transfers between Hive and the ETH or BSC chains are handled by a third-party bridge service provider called ZKCross. This service is directly utilized from the Splinterlands website for either sending one of the mentioned assets outbound towards a linked external wallet or for initiating an inbound transfer from a browser extension wallet.
In the following steps, we will explain how to navigate through the transfer process. The first part of the provided guides will explain how to open the transfer menus of each asset on the website. We will then go through the entire process using an SPS transfer from BSC towards a Splinterlands account to initiate a transfer of SPS using the bridge since both DEC and SPS work very similarly between either chain in making both inbound and outbound transfers, though fees may differ between chains.
Note: If you are transferring assets from an external BSC or ETH address to your Splinterlands account, do make sure that you are able to sign for the transaction from the wallet, which will require a browser extension wallet such as Metamask to initiate. If you need assistance with importing BSC or importing tokens to Metamask, then click on the appropriate links to be directed to a guide that will help explain how to do this.
Transferring In
Step 1: Select the appropriate icon of the asset you would like to transfer in as shown in the screenshot while logged into the Splinterlands website.
Step 2: You will be redirected to either the SPS management page if the SPS icon was clicked, or receive a new window for transferring DEC if the DEC icon was clicked. As previously mentioned, the process of transferring either of the two assets is very similar, so we will be proceeding in this guide by clicking on the Transfer button on the SPS to prompt a window like the DEC window to continue with this example on the next step.
Step 3: Make sure you select the appropriate chain that you would like to make the transfer from the dropdown field containing the label Select Transfer Type and enter the amount of SPS or DEC you would like to transfer in from your external wallet. After these actions have been made, click on the Transfer In button.
Step 4: You should now have a popup window displaying information such as the amount of SPS you will receive after the fee for this transfer, and the chain of the bridge you are utilizing. Click on the Start Transfer button to proceed with the transfer.
Step 5: Your browser extension wallet may present you with an approval transaction upon the first time use of the bridge, which will consume a fee itself even though it is not the transfer to initiate the transfer. In order to proceed with the utilization of the bridge contract, you will need to pay the presented fees by clicking on the Confirm button.
Step 6: After clicking on the Start Transfer button from step 4, or after the approval transaction had been paid in step 5 if approval was required, you will receive a window presented from your browser extension wallet like shown above requesting GAS fees for the actual transfer be paid, whether in ETH or in BNB depending on the chain being used. Click on the Confirm button in order to pay the fee and proceed with initiating the transfer.
Step 7: After confirmation is successful, you should receive information similar to that shown in the window above. In case anything happens to go wrong with the transfer, you may want to save the Deposit TX ID you are provided within the window. You may present this TX ID to ZKCross support if the transfer is taking too long and becomes stuck for any reason.
Step 8: Typically, a notification should be received shortly that you received your transfer. If you would like to check your balance history to confirm whether your amount was received in cases where your notification might have been missed, you may check on your currency activity page either in the provided link or by clicking on your username/shield icon while logged into the website and clicking on the Currency Activity option in the dropdown list provided.
Click on the DEC or the SPS tab depending on which balance history you are wanting to search through, and you should see any recent spending, earnings, and transfers within the list provided.
This concludes the guide for making inbound transfers of DEC/SPS from BSC/ETH.
