What is Delegating?
Card delegation is used to allow another player to borrow and use a card without losing ownership of the card yourself.
- A cooldown of 48 hours will be present after undelegating a card that had been used in battle in the last two days. This means that the card in question is prevented from being used for battle by you until the remaining cooldown time has expired.
- The account receiving a delegated card may use it for as long as it remains delegated to them at no cost, though the card cannot be combined, transferred, or burned by this player. This selected player may benefit from both the utility of the card within the battle and the contributed collection power provided by the card being present within their collection of playable cards.
- The delegated card's contributed collection power will apply to the account you've let use it, and not your own, until 48 hours after you have successfully retracted the card back to your account.
**Please note: Collection power has been retired as a requirement to advance leagues in ranked battle per the July 6th, 2023 update.
- Multiple cards of the same type may be delegated/undelegated at once.
How to Delegate a Card
Step 1: First, go to the Cards tab of any selected card within your inventory. Use Card Market Filters to locate the card you wish to delegate.
Step 2: Click the checkmark on the left hand side of the card that you want to delegate to another account:
Step 3: Now, click on the icon that looks like two arrows pointing in opposing directions, seen below:
Step 4: Type in the username of the Splinterlands player you want to delegate the card to, and then click the Delegate button:
Step 5: After you click Delegate you should see the icon showing the arrows highlighted to the left of the Card ID, and you may hover over this icon to see to whom the card is delegated:
How to Retract a Delegation
If you want to remove a delegation and make a card available for your own account's use, simply click on the aforementioned highlighted arrows icon, seen again below:
Confirm the transaction, and the card will return to you. If the user you delegated to played the card in the last 48 hours, you will see a clock icon; hover over it to see how much time remains on the cooldown.
Can I Undelegate a Card That Was Delegated to Me?
Currently there is no way to remove a card that was delegated to you from your inventory via the Splinterlands interface. You must reach out to the account holder that owns the card and request that they cancel the delegation.
