DEC Tokenomics
DEC is currently the in-game currency for Splinterlands. We always strive for DEC to get to its peg of 1000=$1.00. There are many ways we put forward to burn DEC and create new DEC when it is needed, giving value to other tokens.
Ways to create DEC
This method can be good for the economy as when DEC goes above peg, you can burn one dollar of SPS to get 1000 DEC even if it is above peg. This will drive value for the SPS token, keeping the DEC from going too far above the peg.
- Receiving rewards from Liquidity Pool
There are currently DEC rewards being paid out from certain liquidity pools to help give liquidity to our tokens for the game. The current liquidity pools paying out DEC are DEC-SPS, DEC-Swap.hive, DEC-DAI, and DEC-BUSD.
- Getting Leaderboard Rewards
There are leaderboards in each league each season that pays out DEC. These leaderboard rewards will also add to the total supply.
Any cards in the game will have a power value which you can burn them for to create DEC as well. Most of the time, this is below the price of what you could sell it for - so be careful.
Ways to use DEC
- Upgrading Guild Buildings
You can use DEC to upgrade your guild buildings to increase the strength of your guild and move to higher tiers. This will burn the DEC and remove it from circulation.
- Buy Packs from Splinterlands
When it is an option, you can buy current packs from Splinterlands valued at 1000=$1.00 even if DEC is above or below peg. This DEC is treated as company revenue.
- Using DEC in the Marketplace
Dec can be used to rent and buy other players' cards on the market. This ends up being a player-to-player transaction.
- Buying Potions
You can buy alchemy and legendary potions from the Splinterlands Marketplace when purchasing this DEC is burned.
